FLYING PHOENIX QIGONG WORKSHOP: 14-hour Immersive Training with Master Terence Dunn, June 23 to 25 at Tao Retreat – Zoomable!
There's qigong and there's qigong; then there's Ehrmei Mountain Flying Phoenix Heavening Healing Chi Meditations
3-Day Residential Qigong Workshop at Tao Retreat — Han Chinese Culture Estate, 33 Tao Road, Catskill, NY 12414
Greetings to all Flying Phoenix Qigong practitioners and friends:
On June 23, 24 and 25, I will be conducting a 14-hour immersive workshop in Ehrmei Mountain Flying Phoenix Celestial Healing Qigong. This will be my first FP Qigong workshop of this year and fifth workshop at the beautiful "Tao Retreat" (Han Chinese Culture Assoc.) at 33 Tao Road in Catskill, NY.
The seven 2-hour sessions of this workshop will be Zoom-able.
Ehrmei Mountain Flying Phoenix Qigong (“Fei Feng San Gung” represented bythe four orange-colored Chinese characters in the above poster) is a rare and extraordinarily powerful medical Qigong system that was created more than 400 years ago by renowned Taoist monk Feng Dao Deh of Ehrmeishan. In this workshop, you will learn this complete Taoist monastic system of hygienics –comprised of standing and seated, stationary and moving meditations that imparts a wide range of salient health benefits with remarkable swiftness: increased respiratory power, improved circulation and metabolism, higher energy levels, improved neuromuscular function in terms of agility, balance and coordination, peak immunity, increased bone strength, and the allostatic reversal of many signs of aging.
"Flying Phoenix Qigong practice significantly elevates parasympathetic tone. 90 minutes of practice of this Qigong is restorative in real time and over time afterwards."
- Yetsa A. Tuakli-Wosornu, M.D., M.P.H., IOC Dip. Sp. Med. Assistant Clinical Professor, Yale School of Public Health Department of Chronic Disease Epidemiology (December 2019)
Flying Phoenix Qigong imparts its remarkable health benefits through a yogic mechanism that brings all the organ functions of the body under the regulation of the subconscious mind. This super-regulating process and energy cultivation is brought on by each of the 33 Flying Phoenix Meditations (9 standing and 24 seated exercises), which consists of (A) an easy-to-do breath-control formula followed by (B) a meditation in repose or a serene moving meditation using repetitive natural movements that are done three times slower than typical Tai Chi form practice. The esoteric breathing formula that precedes each Flying Phoenix meditation ignites a specific flow of Qi in the body that is tangible; the allied posture and pre-choreographed movements circulate the energy through specific orbs of the body. Flying Phoenix Qigong is easier to learn and practice than Tai Chi and its health benefits are tangible, profound, and fast-setting. Long term Flying Phoenix practice activates man’s latent healing potential and cultivates a superabundance of the distinctively tangible and visible Flying Phoenix Energy (Qi) that has extraordinary healing properties unlike any type of energy generated by any other form of Yoga.
Besides imparting its splendid health benefits, Flying Phoenix Qigong integrates mind and body so deeply that it develops highest structural sensitivity, inducing high meditative states of consciousness and deepest levels of jhanic absorption (concentration). Access to deeper absorption naturally carries over and enhances the practice of other healing forms of Yoga or meditation, making other yogic practices easier, more comfortable and more blissful, and for some people in some practices, subtly-streaking the practitioner through the material jhanas.
This is the capstone exercise that lends its name to the entire Qigong system, “Flying Phoenix Heavenly Healing Chi Meditation”, an effective moving meditation that can impart its higher states of consciousness to permeate every second of one’s life:
The vitalities of heaven and earth, sun and moon, Are fundamentally inherent in our bodies. If reality and consciousness do not stray from each other, Creation is always in the palm of your hand.
—Chang Po-Tuan, 11th Century (“The Inner Teachings of Taoism”, Chapter 16)
Unlike other authentic traditional Qigong methods, Flying Phoenix Qigong practice requires NO VISUALIZATION(S) whatsoever. Only the combination of the utterly ingenious and unfathomable Flying Phoenix breathwork—i.e., an esoteric breath-control formula performed at the start of each FP meditation—coupled to each meditation’s natural posture and movements activates the body’s self-healing faculties to impart a wide variety of tangible, visible, repeatable, and verifiable health benefits. As explained by Sifu Dunn’s teacher, Grandmaster Doo Wai, the 6th generation preserver of Bok Fu Pai Kung Fu, Flying Phoenix Qigong brings all the organ systems under the regulation of the subconscious mind. Because FP practice imparts tangible energizing and rejuvenating effects that are lasting and transformative within 60 to 90 minutes of practice, the universal comment heard from beginners after two hours of FP Qigong practice is: “I cannot believe that a human being could have created this art.”
Please pour yourself a cup of tea, sit down, and watch this new Youtube video in which Sifu Terry Dunn demonstrates one round each of 12 of the 24 seated Flying Phoenix Qigong meditations collectively called “Monk Serves Wine.” Standard practice is to perform each meditation’s choreography 7 times. At 16:10 on time code, Terry demonstrates one of “Feng Dao Deh’s 10 San Gung Meditations”—a very rare and high-level practice of the Bok Fu Pai system. Then scenes of Flying Phoenix standing meditation practice from past workshops is seen starting at 26:00. At 30:00 is a view of one of the fifty-four powerful exercises from the Qigong system known as “10,000 Buddhas Ascend to Heaven”:
FP Qigong Practitioners in their 50’s, 60’s, and older have reported that their hair color changed from grey to its original color when once they started practicing the FP Qigong seated meditations known as “Monk Serves Wine” taught in Volume 7 of my DVD series. Another interesting physical indication that Flying Phoenix Qigong improves health holistically is the very noticeable —and initially very surprising—accelerated growth of toenails and fingernails.
PROOF OF THE FLYING PHOENIX PUDDING is this lively worldwide discussion thread started in December 2009 by a very enthused DVD customer in Orlando, FL, who asked Terry Dunn to join the forum a few months later. Now in its fourteenth year, Sifu Dunn has been answering all posted questions on a weekly basis since he joined. As of the date of this newsletter, the Flying Phoenix Chi Kung thread has 5,606 replies and 683,702 views…and hundreds of candid testimonials about the health, fitness, and spiritual benefits of FP Qigong practice.
